Coldbooting the HP Laserjet 2300dn

Since tolkien is accessed rather infrequently, there's a chance we would have forgotten it's password by the time we need to.
Coldbooting is a way to completely reset the password. As of now (06/29/05) there's no password set-up.

  • Turn off printer
  • Turn on printer
  • When memory check starts, hold down green checkmark button until all three (Ready/Data/Attention) lights come on solid.
  • Set up IP address for printer
  • Check that you can telnet into it.
